Default Mopar Nav system in place of stock h/u

Bought a mopar nav offline. Thought it would be plug and play but it will only light up and eject/accept CDs.
Did I get ripped off or do I need new/additional wiring? Do I need to get it synced with my jeeps computer for it to work?
Any info appreciated!

Cherokee is Low-Speed Bus. Wrangler is High-Speed. They are not compatible.
