Yes. Mine do the same thing, but when I hit my remote door lock from my key the dome lights come on and don't flash. It seems to be relate to something besides voltage.

that is true.. i didn't think about that. I'll call them tomorrow and see if theres some sort of relay that i can disconnect on the led. There are times that i sit in my Jeep and don't need the engine on so it can get annoying.

ok so i just went out and checked it out.. ill try to explain my theory. so, when i unlock the car all lights are steady as we agree on. when you sit in the car with the engine off and press one of the map lights, it blinks. and when you press the other one, it also blinks in sync with the other one, not independently. when you unlock the car, the lights are triggered by a relay connected to the lock whereas when you manually turn on the lights, you are triggering a different relay connected to the on/off button. Now without bluffing and pretending I'm an expert on this subject I'm going to say that the CAN-BUS system is to blame. When the lights are on due to the locks, they will eventually turn off so the CAN-BUS trusts that they will turn off on their own. BUT when you manually turn on the light, the CAN-BUS sends signals to see if the lights are on and they eventually turn off after a few minutes (only when engine is off). SOOOO I'm thinking that its the CAN-BUS sending feedback waves to the lights and therefore causing the techno, EDM strobe-like flashing. Nawatimean??? But i could be totally wrong and if thats the case i don't care because i felt pretty smart for a second

Wow! We have pretty much the same interior even with the LED lights! I like the look of the LED on the black leather.

Ok, you rock! So, I understand that the CAN-BUS is to blame. What's the fix? It's only annoying when the key is off and I push the map light button, but still...

well now thats a different story.. i never said i could fix it haha but if i had to guess, i would say that an in-line resistor would do the trick. it would trick the system into thinking that a regular bulb is plugged in rather than relying on the low power drawing led's to bounce the signal back.

Thank you, I appreciate the dome light pics at night but I was really wanting to see the reverse lights at night maybe back up near a wall or a garage and have a stock bulb on one side and the led on the other and post pics from both sides for a comparison. I completely understand if you wish not to honor this request. I am just wanting to see if the juice is worth the squeeze. Thanks again!

That sounds like it should work! I might give it a try and post back to this thread!

I'll see if my buddy can give me his extra resistor he ordered and do the same. although this "problem" could come in handy on those nights you just feel like fist pumping to some crazy beats while rolling on some Molly with some Snookie-looking troll..

Thanks for the detailed info. I also like LEDs for a number of reasons.

Any gut feel how much brighter the back up LEDs are compared to stock?

Thanks!
