Will MyGIG be a straightforward dealer installation? Does anyone anticipate any problems?

 

I asked my dealer in November when I ordered my Rubi. They said "my what?"

I asked several times, same thing. "Whats a mygig?" I would point it out in brochure and suddenly they know about it. They told me they dont know when its coming in, if they will ever get them in or if they can even install them after the fact.

Ive talked to different dealers around town and all say pretty much the same thing. One guy said the owner of the Dealer has one on order for his wifes JK, but he didnt know how to go about ordereing me one. I think he was full of shit.

One guy also told me that he wasnt sure about wiring harness and it might not be possible to add a mygig unless it came from the factory. Which, im gonna call bullshit on aswell.

Mygig is a cluster. Ive given up. Sometime in 2018 the dealers might know something.

 

I wad deadset on one when I ordered but then found this forum, and cancelled. My dealer was pretty confident I could add it later to mine, and he's a friend - so I don't think he would lie. He could be wrong though..

I wouldn't see why it would be any harder than a regular radio swap, or a swap to 6disc. Probably just have to run the gps antenna, and that's it - would be my guess.

My dealer said it would be availabe later but not sure hou much later. Install was rumored to be as much as 8 hours. Not sure how much he knew for sure. Doesn't matter it may be 08 before dealers can get them.

 

Has anyone had one installed by a dealer yet?

 

My understanding is that MyGig will not be offered as a dealer installed option for 2007. There is some talk of it being offered as an option to upgrade at your dealer in 2008, and I'm currently trying to find out if it will be retro-fitted for the 07's. I don't see why it wouldn't, but maybe Don-a-Vee can give us more insight.
