MYGIG - Gracenote DB Update
Following in the footsteps of KTrash, lazerpunk and I bring you ver 881 of the gracenote DB.
http://www.spinningbull.com/files/gndb.zip
CAUTION: This file is huge, you will need to burn it to DVD or get a 1G USB key to transfer it to your MyGIG.
applying this update is much like the software update posted by ktrash on this site.
1. Download the zip
2. uzip to a directory on your system.
3. Burn the txt file and the directory (GNDB) onto a DVD
4. Pop it in your mygig, and select update.
5. enjoy new music with song titles.

I'm not sure what version I have but I know there has been a couple updates after mine. Do I need to update in sequential order or will this update bring me up to date without having to do the previous updates?
Thanks
Thanks

I have updated my system with no problems. Not sure how old the database used for this update is but it did not recognize the new Kid Rock CD which came out 9 October 2007.

Sorry for the misinformation, the update did recognize the new Kid Rock CD from October but didn’t recognize the new Dave Matthews Band CD Live at Piedmont Park which is understandable since it just came out in December.

I've heard of a couple of people having trouble getting this to work. A couple things to make sure of when you burn the dvd:
1. The txt (gnupdate) file and the directory (GNDB) should be in the root.
2. GNDB should contain 6 files (~1G worth)
3. Make sure you choose the "finalize" option when you burn the DVD. If you leave the DVD open to add more files, MyGig won't recognize the disk. If you are using windows Vista, you'll have to change the default options to get this.
4. Use a slow speed (~8x) to burn the DVD.
