The WiFi hot spot thing is a service offered via the MyGIG and some extra components on the '09 model year. It's WICKED expensive. I think a years service is like $200. I'm not sure how it works, but I imagine it's like the OnStar services offered by GM.

 

From what I have read it makes your Jeep a WiFi hot spot on wheels so you could surf the net on a laptop in the Jeep or within a certain distance with the new radio and service.

 

oh. thanks, but no thanks on expensive wifi. Would be cool if you live in a city with wifi everywhere. Is this update only 09' mygig (5064739A# and 5064739A#) compatible? Will it work on the 5064080A# and 5064400A#?

I tried PMing both Dubya and Smiley to try and get the info Smiley posted that was later deleted by the mods, but got no response from either. They're bogarting the update!!! lol

Oh sure, rub that in why don't ya! lol Luckily I've been so busy with other things I haven't had time to get annoyed with that much. lol I'm sure once I install my new gauges this weekend and have fewer things to do, it'll bug me enough to take it in to the dealer. I've had the stupid thing in and out of the dash at least 10 times to check everything and finally just said F it. lol
