Default New horn

Many JK owners have complained about the wimpy horn. I thought it was also. So I bought a Fiamm horn for $19 and put it in. It's not much louder and about the same tone. I had a choice of high or low tone. It's rated at 132db. When I removed the old (3 mos) OEM horn, I found it was a Bosch. The Fiamm fit in easily and the connectors were a match. I'm now thinking to mount the OEM horn somewhere else in the front and parallel the wiring. I hope it's fused well or better yet powered by a relay.

Default 2nd horn

I mounted the OEM horn just below the right headlight when I had the grill out to put in the new Phillips headlights. It mounted fairly easily and only had to move it a bit to replace the grill. I parralled the electrical connection and I know have a loud sounding twin horn. I'm still evaluating the new headlights. If you do a headlight swap, be sure to get a torx and remove the lamps. I could get to the left one fairly easily but it's MUCH easier with the grill out and the headlights removed.

Now that both horns are installed can you tell the difference as to loudness?

I'm installing an Oooga horn just like my dad's old CJ-7, except it will be an auxiliary horn, not my regular one.

My old Focus had the twin Hella trumpet horns with the mini compressor and it rocked!!!!

What I'm looking for is the M.A.S.H jeep "Beep".

Is this the same as a Roadrunner "Beep-Beep" horn?

I know you can get a after market Roadrunner horn, but I want to make sure before I get one off the net.

Anyone have something like this on any of thier Jeeps?

I bought the twin horn package at Auto Zone, yes they will fit and they sound much better than the stock one. Louder and more aggresive sound to them, I used the same wiring and the same relay as to the old horn. They do work!

I'm looking for something a little more manly, less shrill.

If only that "train" horn weren't so expensive. :(

Default Better horn

I installed a WOLO, Badboy horn as a replacement for the JK horn It was easy to install and is alot louder. It fit right in where the stock horn was. I changed the 10 amp fuses to 20 amp just to be safe. I am pleased with the better sound.
