I just replaced mine today with Kickers from Crutchfield.com. The install was easy, and the speakers came with all adapters necessary. It was a HUGE improvement!

Just added the Kicker 8" sub to the stock 2014 enclosure at the rear of the Jeep. It's the red version Kicker 8, so a step up from yellow. Pretty decent upgrade in bass actually. 2 ohm 2 voice coil. Had to do a little re drill to the speaker mounting area on the sub enclosure, pretty easy actually. The grill sticks out a tad, which I'll mod later, kind of looks cool though. Later with a new amp that's better than the factory one, I'm sure it will be enough bass for my eclectic musical taste. When you take it off of Classic rock and play some current R and B, you can hear the base much more. For example, The Scorpions and AC/DC weren't real bass heavy groups, to say the least! It really seems to allow the new upgraded Alpines I got to wake up too, starting to feel happier about this system, as dismal as it was, it's better now.

Spending money on more power is the only answer IMO.... I went with Focal Components up front, Focal Coax in the sound bar with the poly fill. I changed out the factory sub with an Alpine Alpine SWR-843D after a little sound mat and some poly. Then to add some real life, I added a Kenwood XR900-5 eXcelon Reference Fit Five-Channel Digital Power Amplifier under the drivers seat. Top down at 70mph and I can still make my ears bleed....... And the sub still pounds great for an 8"
Jeepersteve, are you using an lc6i or some other type of sound processor? If so, where did you put it?

I've got a kicker sum8 mounted under the steering column with the stock amp. Aftermarket amp, soundstream Picasso nano, mounted behind the glove box. I'll try to post some pictures.

Sweet. Any pics would be appreciated. I should have all the gear I'll be installing by next week and I need to find a place to mount the LC6i.
