Default Odometer reset

OK, I'm putting mad miles on my 2012 and I'll be out of hte warranty soon. On the old Jeeps you could pull a fuse and miles would not be added. What about withthe new JK's anything like this?

Yea I know it is illegal, and all that. But with heads cracking an all that, I'd like a bit more insurance.

You're approaching 100,000 miles?

I don't think the odometer can be fooled on the JK.

Default Miles

I've got 22K on it. I'l be out of the 3/36K soon. I prefer to time out of the warranty than go over on the miles. I need to slow the accumulation a bit.

You can drive backwards. Worked out well for Ferris.

It seemed like you were worried about the engine, which is covered for 100,000 miles or 5 years.

try looking online to purchase a used odometer with less miles. if you have problems and need your jeep to go in for warranty, take out the recently purchased odometer with your original odometer.

That won't work. The new cluster will display the original mileage from the powertrain control module.

So, get a spare PCM (new or one from a lower mileage JK), you say? That won't work, either.
The replacement PCM won't work until it has been programmed with the VIN and mileage from the original PCM.

Don't just say false.

Give us the correct story. What I posted is what the factory service manual says.
