Odometer reset
You are a thief ! I wonder if you think anything you do that people don't know about is okay . You are probably that guy on the trail who throws trash out and thinks it's okay as long as no one sees you .You probably cheat on your boyfriend . I can only hope that someone like you , rips you off someday , you jerk ! Not to mention that you posting this on a web site really shows how stupid you are .What you need to do is to tell us the name of your dealer so we can give them a call about you.By the way , we all want more insurance , it's that most of us are grown ups and deal with it . Put your big boy pants on and deal with it , or better yet , do the jeeping community a favor , sell the jeep , because you are a newbe , and not a jeeper anyway , crawl back into your hole and go back to your 1978 Honda car !

Wow. You should have bought the extended service contract. Or buy a little gas saver for your daily commute.
Making the jeep TMU will just cause even bigger problems down the road. Not to mention the moral and legal issues. And since you now put it on the Internet it is there to stay. Great way to leave the evidence crumbles.
Edit... And now go take your 12 post cheating ass and request yourself to be removed from the forum permanently. We don't need people like you here that have nothing to contribute to the Jeep community.

Not cool man. Looking for blatant ways to cheat others or the system isn't what this community is for. x2 with ronjenx posting, your power train warranty covers you for 5 years\100,000 miles. Good luck.

This!!!
Well said Sporticon
The Mileage is stored in the Cluster and ECM but they get the mileage signal independently. The ECU mileage is used for emissions test calibrations and maintaince, and can be adjusted to match cluster mileage by the dealer. Cluster mileage cannot be done by the dealer as it has to be sent to a service center or a replacement cluster is sent with the mileage already burned in it. The service center fires up the old one and sets it into the new one. Many lease customers are caught tampering with the mileage by checking the ECU mileage and warranty records as soon as the car is hooked up to the diagnostic machine the VIN and mileage are sent to chrysler.
Tampering with the odometer in most states will get you a huge fine, and it may well be a federal offense. In addition if you are caught you can kiss your warranty goodby.

From the factory service manual:
The odometer and trip odometer give an indication to the vehicle operator of the distance the vehicle has traveled. This indicator is controlled by the instrument cluster circuitry based upon cluster programming and electronic messages received by the cluster from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) over the Controller Area Network (CAN) data bus.
The PCM continually monitors the vehicle speed pulse information received from the wheel speed sensors, then sends the proper messages to the ElectroMechanical Instrument Cluster (EMIC) (also known as the Cab Compartment Node/CCN).
Use a diagnostic scan tool to reprogram a new Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with the vehicles original identification number (VIN) and the vehicles original mileage. If this step is not done, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may be set.
