Default OEM Fog Light Fuse

Is there a fuse for the OEM Fog Lights in the fuse box? I looked through all of the fuse labels under the hood and checked here: Fuse Box Layout Map but I guess I am blind because I am not seeing one.

Nope your not blind and the JK doesn't have a fuse for the fog light circuit. The computer monitors the current on the circuit. And automaticaly shuts the system off if it senses something outside of the OEM design parameters.

Thanks. If it trips, does it immediately reset when the engine is turned off or the circuit is opened again or does something special have to be done to fix it?

I just hooked my factory fog lights back up again to the original harnesses after they were bypassed by the previous owner. I know the steering column switch was working fine before and don't think anything I did there would have changed that. I just installed some new fog light housings and I believe H10 halogen bulbs. I am not sure if they were 55w or 35w though. They are not turning on. The headlights do turn on fine still though, but that may be a separate circuit.

I unplugged one of the fogs and used a little bulb tester on the harness but it did not light up either, like the harness didn't have power.

Any thoughts?

If you have the correct rated bulbs, I believe that they will eventualy correct themselves. If you don't want to wait, you can disconnect the battery for a few minutes ( 5 min maybe ).

I just checked the bulbs. Each bulb is a 45W H10. Does anyone know if running two of these as my fogs would cause the computer circuit to trip?

Well, I did some more research and the factory fog light circuit is supposed to be rated to 55W. I am at a loss as to why my two 45W fog lights won't work. I get zero power to the plug when I use a tester.

Is it possible it was somehow overloaded, and if so, does anyone know how long I have to wait for it to reset on its own vs. having to unplug the battery for 5 minutes?

My frustration just reached an all-time high. As the sun set, I said screw it, and plugged everything back in to try again. Of course it was a bit darker, and as I turned on the lights, the first thing I noticed was that the brights had accidentally been toggled, which of course force bypasses the fogs. Of course it works like a champ now.

Sigh....................

Yes, the fog lights are controlled by the computer. Yes, it is ridiculous in my opinion. I experienced same. The PCM cut power to one side because of too much load on that side.To reset that control without disconnecting the battery (works on 2018 JK), hold down on trip odometer button, stick key in ignition and turn to "run" position without starting the engine. The dash guages will all light up and flash various lights including the needles moving like things are going crazy. It does a diagnostic of some sort and if you have fixed the problem, the fog lights will start working again. I tried it as a stab in the dark and it worked. Btw, I didn't find this info on resetting lights in the manual or online. My old 98 TJ had same feature. I discovered in it while trying to unsuccessfully get the check engine light to flash out codes like supposedly can be done (didn't work for that, that was bad info given somewhere online). LOL)

Ok, so i did your reset trick, and it works on a 2014 sport also. However, my fog lights didnt reset.. Any other ideas what it could be. I have a similar situation to the other guy. I put on an extra set, had to use a harness splitter. Put on m/f wire connectors. Made sure everything was red to red and black to black and insulated, but no lights. Head lamps work fine. Dont know what to do... Help!!!

By tapping in to add the additional lights, you've changed the resistance, and the computer doesn't like it, so no power to it. You will have to run a separate circuit for the additional lights.
