hope you get an answer on this. i've been wondering if it really is an upgrade.

 

As I understand it the part is the same. It's the software programming that is loaded into the amp that is the difference. You can flash your current amp with the 2008 software and get back full range sound in the rear. (I say "can" meaning that the technical ability is there, the dealer may not be willing to do this for you and will most likely charge you a ton of $$) The 2008 Nitro amp may be flashed in a dealer "upgrade" and remove the functionality you are looking for. I was looking into this option, but have decided to get an aftermarket amp to cure the problem for good.

 

I have a 2008 built in febuary. the sound bar speakers are so nerfed you cannot hear it on the high way at full volume.
