Hello everyone. So I made a dumbass decision to drive through a very deep mud hole a couple weekends ago and it ended up being a lot deeper than I initially anticipated. The motor hydrolocked (new motor is on the way and is being fully covered through insurance). Mud water entered through the passenger floor and flooded the whole right side of the jeep. I’d say it was about 5-6 inches of water but it never reached the dash. Since the car was at a 45° angle, it didn’t go all throughout the car. My question is, is this car worth building or am I going to have a crap ton of electrical issues and other problems? I have pulled all the carpets and dried out the interior but I’m worried about the electrical components. If anyone has some good knowledge in this area, it would be greatly appreciated. Fyi, the engine wasn’t submerged, it was just the side of the car
At the very least I think I'd disconnect any and all electrical harnesses you can access, hit with contact cleaner and apply some dielectric grease. If you're just talking there on the right side, I'd imagine most things would be fine. I'd certainly clean up under the passenger seat and that passenger side airbag sensor. Is there junk all up in the fuse box in the engine bay?
