I would check your STATE and local laws usually under the vehicle code...usually under auxillary lighting.....

I thought about this route too but ultimately decided against it and just went with a hand held spotlight.....;aready have enough lights facing forward!!!!!

Good luck

These lights are awesome! A friend of mine had an old electric utility truck and he sold me his light.

I had a TJ at the time and installed it on the driver's side. Nothing like holding your breath while you're drilling through the windshield mount hoping it will work! LOL

When it wasn't being used, I was able to move the light down and around so the lens was against the rubber seal around the windshield. This kept it protected from flying rocks.

When I did use it while offroading, it was great being able to have a powerful light that I could turn in all directions, up/down and left/right.

I'm in Iowa and during that time I got pulled over plenty of times, for other reasons, but not once did a cop say anything about that light. Here in Iowa, almost all cabs have those lights installed too.

It would be safe to check your state's laws first before you put a hole in your Jeep. Good luck!

Thanks for that, Decon. I just found out that Michigan does not allow more than 2 aux lights to be equipped :(

Glad I didn't order a light bar yet.

i've never had a problem on any of my TJs. got pulled over for my "Knight Rider" light lots. the one that's red and goes side to side.

i always wanted to turn the amber marker lights in the ARB bumper into fog lights too!

I think I may have found a technicality that you can have multiple HEADLIGHTS, so long as no more than 4 are turned on at one time. But only two auxiliary fog lights.

I really like the idea of a wireless remote light like this one on the Galls website.

500,000 candlepower, and a pair of these mounted to a light bar over the windshield would be pretty useful.

I think anything over 55-60W is illegal in most places, and so need a cover. The beam pattern doesn't matter. On my TJ, I ran 100 W KC Slim fogs here in hilly western Virginia, but we have an interstate at 3000 ft., and it's often shrouded in clouds, with runway lights for 7-8 miles or so. The cops never said anything.
