Default Powered Bazooka Hook-up

Spent some time searching but never really got my answer. Maybe the crew here can help once again.

I was just given a EL Series 8" 200 watt powered sub and need to know if it can be hooked up to single CD stock HU? If anyone has hooked up how does it sound? Any tips on installing, wiring, or needed filters and such? I'm thinking of sliding under back seat and can already see that I will loose fold down unless removed - good place for sound?

Appreciate the help!

Don't do it man. They suck and were cool for about 6 months trust me I was an installer for years. Don't waste your time. But you could pay it forward.

Damn, threads from a couple of years ago list this as being a pretty good option. I porbably will still try out of curiosity but will not set my hopes too high. Nothing else, I'll already have the HU out which will force me to find an alternate solution (spend a few $$)

I wired up an Rca out converter into the stock hu speaker output wires. Picked it up at an audio shop. Sub was too big so its not hooked up right now. Did the same in my Nissan. It works, but not the best. Aftermarket hu wasn't an option for me. Even running a $1000 SQL subwoofer and quality amp, it sounded bad. I'd rather go with a 10 or 8in quality sub with a good headunit. Other is just a waste...

I have one of those little bazooka 8inch subs in my jk and I think it does a perfect job

A little bit of bass...self powered...and somewhat water resistant.

Agreed had one in my yj and then had one in my wife's outback. Is it the best, no. But it is pretty decent since the bazooka tube was free, and you can get the wiring off the internet for cheap. Heck I think it sounds better then the stock sub that comes with the infinity stuff in the jk. We have the stock sub in ours because that's what was on the lot, I would rather have my bazooka.

Preciate the info guys. @ afdude - I actually have all the wiring so that is what is promting me to try - nothing really to waste but a little time.

From what I have read here it is better to tap into fromt speakers = more output. So I think I will just splice the RCA jacks from the sub harness right into the front speakers - sucks going back into that dash though. Might be less a PIA to pull the HU and tap there.
