I need someone to press the button on their factory HU and reply with what the LCD says.

Reason: I just bought and installed a refurb'd 6-DVD changer HU. When I press one of the Uconnect buttons I get "Uconnect not installed". I thought that on my single CD player it said something like "Uconnect unavailable" I'm kind of hoping that I may be able to get the Uconnect parts and install them and have a working Uconnect system. I know that I'm probably dreaming or crazy but you never know.

 

Who sells the refurbished HU ?

 

Got it on Ebay. The same person has a brand new one on the "For Sale" part of the forum.

 

U-Connect is not available for Wrangler....regardless the head unit

 

Rather than tell me something I already know, could you just humor me and go out and press the Uconnect button and tell me what it says...

ONE LAST TIME for everyone. The hands free via bluetooth DOES NOT work on a wrangler. The only reason the buttons are on there is because the same exact head units are used in most Dodge and Chrysler vehicles. Forget the button even exist in your jeep. "There is no U-Connect Obi-Wan." There is no hack or additional hardware you can buy to make it work. Give up and get a headset or turn off the phone and enjoy the drive.

 

im pretty sure that FiveOff knows that it doesnt work, if people had any sort of reading comprehension skills they would have realized that. FiveOff is simply asking if the stock wrangler says something on the display then the refurbed unit they just got.
