Default Rain on MyGig

Is it pretty much a given that rain on the MyGig unit will fry it - that thing's not waterproof, right?

My jeep got rained in this summer pretty good and it was all over the dash and everything. the my gig was pretty wet. I dried it off as much as i could before turning on my jeep . I waited as long as i could before i had to leave (2 hrs later) when i cranked it up it worked fine. I was very suprised.
I hope u get the same results !!!

Mine got damp from heavy dew getting in with the top off at the beginning of the summer. No problems at all here either, but I wouldn't let a down poor get to it.

I'm sure water on the face of it wont be a big deal. Once it gets behind the dash, you'll have problems. But that's the same with any stereo... unless you buy a marine aftermarket setup...

Just because it gets a little wet, doesn't always mean it will be junk. The life span will be a little less (because of corrosion). But unless you turn it on when still wet, you shouldn't have many issues.
