Default Rain and radio

I just got a 2010 and this is my first jeep. I removed the seats and carpet to hose out sand that covered my carpet during a trip to the beach. So I found the drain plugs, and realized that I can get it pretty dirty and be able to get it clean again. I used to be worried about rain, with the top down, but now realize that it wont do anything to hurt the interior.... except will rain mess up the radio? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Just wondering if I'm out and it starts raining, do I need to be worried?

I have read where people have had electronic problems after a hard rain, which soaked the dash board, including the steering wheel and column.

Haven't heard much about the radio, though.

I was thinking the same thing, especially since if I am not mistaken the radio is the same as dodge and chrysler.

just make a cover out of vinyl that you can drape over the dash AND STEERING WHEEL.. and you should be fine.... the cloth seats if totally soaked could be a problem.. but you can buy seat covers like wet okole (spelling?) that would solve that problem...

one thing ive done in the rain is just throw the top up real quick without putting the sides on or such and its kept my electronics and seats for the most part dry...

I'm surprised no company has made a "dash cover" for those that run topless that can throw a cover on their dash during a rain storm. Humm maybe I have an idea...

I've had MAJOR water intrusion on at least 3 occasions and i haven't encountered any problems. This includes "the swamp effect" that you get when your wet jeep sits in the florida sun with the windows up and the top on before you have time to pull the carpets and drain the storage areas. The front speakers are in sealed boxes, I guess for a reason, and the mygig is still going strong.

Got some soft top leakage today in this 6+" of rain and it went on radio. Radio acting a little funky like randomly turning off, i hit the track skip button and it skipped CD, etc. Generally working 90% of time, but i assume in a big heavy rain you might be screwed... this thing barely got wet and its nuts'd up.

Default Intermittent horn after hard rain

Woke up on a Sunday...after having drank....a lot. Just wanted some Bojangles breakfast and a coffee. Wife and I are headed down the road and the horn just started going off. Not a constant horn, but like the wire was loose. BAAAAHHHH BBAABABABAHHHHH and then a few minutes until again. Waiting in line at Bo's, the horn starts again, so I pulled every fuse till it stopped. Replaced enough fuses to get the motor go'n again and headed home. It dried through the day and didn't have problems later that night. BUT WOW. Figured Jeep would have thought this out.

As for the rest, no problems. I actually had about 8" of standing water in the floor since my jeep was on a decline. That was like a waterfall after pulling the plugs.
