Chris, I see this was your first and only post back on May 7, 2011. Don't blame you for not coming back since no one even welcomed you to the forum much less tried to answer your question. If you are lurking, which I doubt, I will answer it nine months later. Maybe someone else will get something out of it too. That's what forums are for.
The 730N RHR has a HDD drive song shuffle function BUT it is not a true shuffle function. In my experience the same songs are played in the same order every time you request shuffle. In a word, it is "useless".
