I have Sirius hardwired into a 2007 Peterbilt (18 wheeler) and it works just fine. Loud, clear channels. Little difference from that to a CD.

A lot of it is antenna positioning, and antenna type. The Pete has a custom made antenna that is bolted just above the sun visor. Heavy trees, overpasses, and certain parts of I 35 through Austin,TX it will cut out for a moment.

On the XM I also have in the Pete I have the small magnetic mount hocky puck. Still works fine, but it cuts out a lot more. Being seet up as an FM transmitter/modulator (SkyFi II ) the signal is a little worse.

Look into a different antenna. I am not sure where they are mounted on the Jeeps, but I know on the big truck, if it's being blocked by anything, or not straight, it'll act up.

For the guy who asked earlier.. I believe the Sat antenna is located under the Roll bar padding on the passenger side... It wouldn't have been something you would normally have seen.
Some have moved them to the driver side and claimed it made a difference. Before I go through the trouble of relocating I would like to know for sure.

just for the record, if you call sirius, for about 4 bucks a month they will upgrade the quality of the music to "CD" quality... I don't know how much difference it makes, but it is available.

Default Sirius cutting out

For those of you having the problem with your radio cutting out while in SAT mode, there is a TSB for it. FYI

Just replaced stock H/U with a Kenwood DNX 6140 and the sirius connect. I have the magnetic ant on the hood behind a hinge and my reception has never been better...can listen in the garage and the sound is also better.

I might consider something like this. I have an '09 and the sat cuts in and out way too much. Very annoying.
