Default Sirius Sportster 5- FM Out antenna

Quick question for those with a Sportster 5 Sirius Radio.

I have owned a satellite radio for about 6 years now, and just got a Sportster 5 model. It came with a cable (One end has like a headphone jack, and the rest is just a piece of wire.) that is supposed to go in the FM Out plug in the docking station for the vehicle and I am wondering what to do with it. Does anyone have this? Are you using it? Does it improve reception? I'm clueless even after reading the instructions that were in the little baggy it came in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
