Default Steering Wheel controls

Searched all day and couldn't find a thread so here goes.

Got in my almost new (Jan 13) 2011 JKU Rubicon with Nav, Uconnect and steering wheel controls to find controls for data/ info and radio don't work. Cruise control is okay but none of the others do.

Suggestions or help? Hate the idea of leaving at the dealership for days to straighten out.

Mine did that roughly a week after I bought it. Then mysteriously a day/two later they worked again...mysteriously it happened again and it cured itself. It has yet to happen again. As info I've had my 11 Sahara Unlimited since 3/14/11.

Give the steering wheel a couple whacks and I bet they start working again. Had this happen to mine a couple times as well.

So a $1400 option and you're satisfied with whacking it a couple of times and it should be okay?

Have an appointment at the dealership in the AM to get checked out. Will update when I know something.

This is a very common problem with the 2011s, just bang on the steering wheel all around with the palm of your hand. The connectors have a lot of grease in them, which sometimes causes interferance. Honestly this is gonna be the first thing the tech at the dealership does.

Didn't say I was ok with it. You asked for suggestions, so that's what I gave you. It hasn't happened to mine in about 3k miles now. If it happens again, I'll take it in.

Mine just did this today for the first time (2011 2200 miles), same as the OP - cruise works, but not radio controls or the front left side. I'm taking mine in, Arizona has a lemon law maybe I can get some free crap out of it!
