Default Stereo & Brake Controller Won't Power Off

Suddenly my 2015 Wrangler won't power down the stereo or brake controller when I turn off the ignition. I checked the auto-power down settings and changed it from 45 seconds to zero and still the power won't turn off. I've had to resort to pulling the negative cable off the battery to shut it down. When I reconnect the negative they don't power back up unless I turn on the ignition so I think that rules out a power wire that is shorted to an always on wire. I'm at a loss where to even begin to troubleshoot. No work has been done and no accessories added in several years. No event triggered this, it just started. Any ideas where to start my search? I hate to bring it to the shop as I know that hunting electrical issues takes a lot of time and will likely cost me a fortune. Thanks!

The brake controller must be an add on accessory,so I would first try disconnecting that and see if the radio shuts off. The brake controller should have both hot all the time and ignition connections. Maybe something went bad inside the controller? My brake controller has a connector on the back so I can unplug it.
