You clipped the signal and fried the sub. Take it to a pro, seriously. The reason it would hit and stop is because it was going in to protect mode.

I just got a single 12, am doing all the wiring. But it sounds like its tipping out & the volume is at 15. Can you help me out?
I have the sub in a box now, sounds 10x better, but it's cutting in and out. Like sometimes it'll hit, then if there's a small period of no bass. It will stop hitting after that.
Okay, so my sub isn't working anymore & im looking to purchase a new one, any body selling a 12"?
All of these are inter-connected, I promise.
