Default Tailgating/Beach TV

I am thinking of a way to be able to mount a 19-20inch monitor to the rear roll bar for use when the top is off and we are at the beach and/or tailgating. I would like to be able to watch the Sox while sitting on the beach. This brings me to my next question. I would also like DVD abilities for the kids to watch movies. I was thinking of mounting a DVD player in the glove box or under a seat that would be able to run to the TV and I have seen the DVD players with built in ATSC tuners.

Any idea if this is a logical way to go about it or should I explore other options.

Would I also be able to run the DVD player to headrest monitors for the kids when the bigger TV is not being used and/or mounted.

Obviously the tailgating TV would be portable and only used when going to the beach/tailgating.

I am kind of "challenged" when it comes to electronics.. .... and am just kind of thinking out loud.

Anyone done anything similar?

Not to be a wiseass or anything, but isn't one of the reasons you take your Jeep to the Great Out Doors to get away from TV and enjoy/admire the "Natural World"? If you want to watch TV, record it and watch at home. Beauty in Nature can be fleeting, why miss it?

I thought TVs were part of the "Natural World".

We have been faithful Chapin and Crowes Pasture fixtures for years but so many friends have been switching to Sandy Neck we are seriously considering changing beaches.... Would love to have some cold ones around a Bon fire watching Sox-Yanks

Sandy Neck is great. Bring out the portable grill and and drink some beers. Then when it gets dark (7pm) you can have fires till 10:30ish. Maybe even put the sox game on the radio and enjoy life. You wont regret going out there. Tons of fellow jeepers out there. Getting my sticker soon.

I don't know about mounting it but have been drooling over directv's "sat-go" its a TV with a built in satellite dish the size of a suite case that can be powered up from you cigarette lighter.

In the past for serious tailgating at the late game I connected a TV directly to the battery threw it on a table and connected the antenna like normal. Nothing pretty but it got the job done.
