Unhappy Third brake light not getting power

I have a 2010 Jeep Wrangler JK Sport soft top. My over the spare third brake light is not getting power. I checked the M1 fuse. I checked the plug inside the tailgate with a meter and it's not getting power. Both left and right brake lights work fine. I spliced into the right rear brake light which worked when brake is depressed but the third brake light came on with the turn signal. So I disconnected that. Could it be a short somewhere in the harness that runs along the passenger side? Could it be the brake pedal switch? Is there a workaround? I would appreciate any input. Thanks

Check socket 5 in the harness for power from fuse M1.
Check socket 6 in the harness for continuity to the connector at the center stop light.
