Wouldn't bother me to remove it but not really wanting to mess with that when I can easily reach the head unit. Now here's the dilemma...you and everyone else say I should have uconnect already...here are some pics...

This is the model...

This is the message that pops up...

Oh...this was taken from an '08 and put in my '12.

1-Do you have a Simple plug/play mic connected in the center port in the back?

If no, then that's one reason.

2-Did you go into Engineering Menu to set the mic on?
*To get into Menu,
Press Three Hard Keys at the same time and release, as screen will pop up.press to get rid of it. (be careful you don't double tap, screen will return and you do it again.

Hard Keys to Press together:
SEEK UP.... SEEK DOWN......MENU
when you get in, search for Voice Recognition, turn on

You probably need to activate the JK Voice recognition in the engineering mode of the RER.

Turn on your mygig.

Press and hold the seek up and seek down buttons along with the menu button.

A screen will pop up asking if you want to go to the engineering menu, select yes.

Scroll down to page 5, look for the "Enable JK VR/HFM" option, and select it.

LOL, Looks like ATLJeepsTer beat me to it.

Awesome! I'm gonna try the engineering method. Seems a lot easier than to try to add a mic and a lot cheaper than getting a new unit.

Don't confuse the Uconnect Blutooth module with the add-on Mic by mopar....They are not related or should even be used at the same time

Thank you sir. So it isn't just plug and play with one of those $1 mics?
