Didn't charge me a dime thankfully.

It's bizarre since the iPOD works....that would imply that the uconnect module isn't faulty correct? Anyone experience anything similar? Any suggestions? Cheers.
Isn't the REN a MyGig? If so google for MyGig Engineering Menu and check that out for instructions on enabling hands free.

Thanks for the reply Octo. Yes, the REN is a MyGig. Both I and the dealer got into Engineering mode separately, but didn't find what we should have - the option to "Enable JK VR/HFM". That option is nowhere in sight. I don't think it would matter, but the REN was originally in a Dodge. Starscan updated the VIN and all other codes properly and the Starscan recognized that the uconnect was there, but it just won't work. Bizzaro!!!

Is the unit up to date with the latest software? I don't have a MyGig, so I can't speak from first hand experience, but I seem to remember some people having to apply the latest software onto the unit before the engineering menu was available.

IIRC the MyGig can be upgraded by inserting a disc

Yup! I just checked this morning. Jeep was at the dealer on Thursday and they must have updated it.
