Not necessarily underneath, but on the front with a sharp downward angle.
Without a spotter, some of the trails this weekend were a bit hairy breaking over.
Had I been thinking, I would have put magnets on my VR3 camera and placed it as needed. Where it was, it just collected mud!

I looped the wire "beneath" the plate and placed the cam over it. It still works well...I did have to drill a small hole in the license plate holder though to route the wire thru (forgot to mention that). Check out the pic below after plate install (at the time I installed, I hadn't gotten my plates yet as the truck was still dealer new).
