3.8 Rebuild valve install question
I'm in the process of rebuilding my 3.8 and after getting my heads resurfaced, I am unable to install the valve springs with the Lisle 36050 tool. The valve components (keepers, retainers etc) uninstalled just fine, but for some reason, I can't seem to compress the springs enough to install the keepers with the install tool. Am I doing something wrong? I tried both sizes that are included in the tool set, on three different valves and no joy. Is the spring too strong for this tool? I'm considering getting an OHV puller and using that to see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the help.
