Eos Rubicon
It has now been a year since I took ownership of my 2016 JKUR, and I realized that I forgot to start a build thread. Time to catch up lol.
I have been eyeing a Wrangler to replace my MazdaSpeed 3 as my daily driver for about a year before purchase. One popped up that had low miles and was at a decent price so we pulled the trigger.
Here she is the morning after I picked her up. Almost miss her stock. Almost.
First thing I did was go off roading of course. They are very capable in stock form. Also got a stock poser pic. Replaced the stock Rubicon graphic with a JL style one as I think they look better.
I took a vacation from my job and painted a house for money to dump into the Jeep. In this picture it almost looks like it knows it’s about to not be stock anymore and looks nervous.
Installed a Rugged Ridge front bumper with a Smittybilt winch. Looked for one for a while and found this one that looks great at a reasonable price. After nodding the Mazda, I learned that the highest price parts are not always called for.
Fell in love with the 17” Fuel Warp wheels. Decided to wrap them in Kanati Mudhogs. Great reviews on the tires at a great price. Put them under a Teraflex 2.5” budget boost. I am happy with the lift, but will probably be going a different route in the future.
But they are heavy
My staff decided to add a little mod of their own one day
KBD flairs got painted and put on.
In the middle of the AEV tire carrier install I hit a snag. Couldn’t get this fucker in.
Tried to be smart
Tried freezing it to make the metal smaller in hopes I could get it in.
Finally said to hell with it and took my frustrations out on the sleeve with a hammer. Called AEV and told them of my troubles, and they said sometimes the powder coating gets a little thick in the bracket. They sent me a new one and instructed to use a Brillo pad on it to make sure it will fit.
After about a week waiting on the part, got the tire carrier and the spare gas can mounted and is good to go.

Had a Ravelco anti theft device installed. Kinda like a kill switch to the battery and fuel pump, but with a key. Wires leading up to it are all black so it is almost impossible to hotwire. Of course a tow truck will make short work, but if a thief wants your ride that bad, they’re going to take it anyway.

Had a little fun in the mud a couple weeks ago. Still finding that crap under there. Seems like every time after mudding, something has to be replaced. Had to replace my wheel speed sensors shortly after.

Installed Stinger Heigh10 headunit. Absolutely love it.
Added sound deadening and Poly-Fil to speaker enclosures
The difference even on this budget speaker speaks for itself

Stripped the interior in preparation for the sound deadening
Installed Sound Skins sound deadening. This along with deadening of the doors and headliners will drop the db by about 10. The main benefit is to compliment the upgraded speakers
