Well today was partially successful...
got the bumper installed, most time consuming part was getting the stupid fog light wiring harness out of the old bumper since I forgot my tool for popping the connectors out.
I did a test fit with just the bumper first even though it said to add the winch first. I’m glad I did because it wasn’t going to go on with the winch in place until the vacuum pump is relocated!
I guess the winch I have is a little bigger than some because the instructions said relocation wasn’t needed. Oh well. Gonna have to wait for a kit to arrive in about a week from MetalCloak.
Here’s a before and after:
I’m super happy with how it looks, just disappointed I couldn’t get it all done today.
Last weekend my relocation bracket arrived, so I ran over to my ex father in law’s house to use his angle grinder, get things relocated, and get the winch installed.
MetalCloak relocation bracket Tight fit
this weekend’s project will be installing a couple little goodies, and getting my new tires installed (hopefully). The tires are at Costco, I’ve just gotta get an appointment to get them put on.
after that I’m done with spending large chunks of money on upgrades for a while. Quick disconnect pins for my Teraflex end links, and some delrin door hinge liners
Tires were installed this past weekend…
Was a little disappointed in the ride at first but then I noticed they filled the tires to 50psi!! Dropped that down to 34-35 and they’re great.
I’m very happy with where my JKU is at this point - now I just need to get it out on some trails!
we have hunting property not far from here with some paths through the woods, I’m going to try to get out there this coming weekend.
