ReconJeep's 2016 JKUR build

Added two piggyback HSGI Taco pouches to the Molle Platform Solutions door mount. These pouches are awesome because you can pretty much use them for anything. They're designed for a rifle mag and a pistol mag. The rifle mag holds just about any smart phone. My iPhone 7 fits like a glove and I've seen other use it with the Plus model. The interior is lined with the loop side of Velcro so it doesn't scratch the screen. The pistol pouch is perfect for items like flashlights or a Leatherman. I love these things!!!

Sunday, Jeep Work Day!!!!
I just got a TJM aluminum fuel tank skid plate at an amazing discount at Summit. Just a heads up to those that may be interested in this. It seems like it's designed for the earlier model JKs. One of the holes does not coincide with the ones on my 2016 JK. Also, there's a hole to insert the transfer case skid cross bar, and it's too small. You will need to enlarge it some for the newer bigger cross bar. See pics below to see what I mean. If you have a long arm kit, one of the bracket will sit right where the new trailing arm bracket sits on the frame. Not a big deal because there are a ton of other mounting points that make it solid. Plus this skid sits on top of the factory one, and therefore will not compromise anything anyways.
This is the bracket that interferes with the long arm kit, and has to be hacked off.

It would line up with a hole, that is now covered by the long arm kit. The instructions are pretty good and would make much more sense when you have it in front of you.

Here's the other mod for the newer transfer skid plate cross bar. You just need to make it slightly larger so the thicker bar can fit in the hole comfortably. Not an issue with older model JKs.

This is the final hole that does not line up with the crossmember hole. I might just get one of those self tapping screws, but don't think it's really critical.

Here's the final product. This skid feels solid as hell and a nice improvement over the factory one. Another nice thing is that since it's aluminum, it's quite light. Good thing is that this skid is going to take all the hits instead of the factory one.
