ReconJeep's 2016 JKUR build

Got a folding hitch tray so I can carry the Gorilla Cart to the range. I use the Gorilla Cart for taking the heavy steel targets out to the berms. Unfortunately we're not allowed to drive on the range or it would be a no brainier having a Jeep.

It's awesome because I can leave it on and fold it up if I want. The tray can hold up to 600 lbs so I can even load the AR500 targets on there too if I want.

Decided to move the third brake light back to it's OEM location. I had been running it inside the spare, with the mount that comes with TF tire carrier. When I'm out on OVERT calls, I put on a spare tire cover with a large reflective logo on it. This would cover up the third brake light. Since I had the TF tire carrier it was logical to get the one made by TF that was compatible. When I first mounted it, the spare would hit the light bracket because I have it adjusted so it rests right up against the tailgate. I didn't want to pull the spare out more to clear it because it creates more leverage. So I decided to modify the bracket.

My plan is to flip it backwards so the offset would be back instead of forward. Problem is there is an antenna bracket, bottom right, that stops it from making it possible to just flip it.

Off it comes!

Now it sits just back enough to clear the spare! At first I added a rubber bump at the bottom so it rests against the glass. This was for two reasons. First was because all the negative reviews I had read about this bracket is that it shakes like crazy on bumpy roads. Second because of the flex, I didn't want it smacking the glass and breaking it in case of an accident. It worked great, but unfortunately I hadn't realized that it was in the path of the wiper blade. Off comes the bump stop. The good thing is that I have just enough preload against it with the spare, that it doesn't vibrate anyways. I will put some smaller rubber bumps, that clear the wiper, just in case of an accident.

Some will wonder why I didn't paint it in the truck's Mohave Sand color like I have with all the other parts? Very simple. It would stick out like a sore thumb every time I looked in the rear view mirror. The black makes it unnoticeable. I also took advantage that I had everything disassembled to add a strobe module to the third brake light. It's the same they use in race cars. I did it because I catches people's attention way more that just a constant on light.

Nothing outrageous. Just attached my Hilift off road base to the Hilift with a 4" long 3/8" bolt and a locking knob. The recovery I did a couple of weeks ago made me realize I needed it.
