Default starting new on a jku

Starting new on a JKU - So far only thing I've purchased is a new front and rear bumper and some LEDs. All of which is currently sitting in my living room awaiting my decision and arrival of my lift. Figured I'd go ahead and post here in order to get a place started to post my build up.

Front bumper: Poison spyder brawler lite
Rear bumper: LoD mid-width w/tire carrier
LED: Rigid LED w/windshield mounts (x2)

Future: (Hopefully soon) some kind of sliders - still on the hunt for ones that'll match what I'm looking for.
Regear
Lift
35s (on the way)

Lift: Wanting to place my order sometime within the next week. I am still debating on if I want to go the Rock Krawler route, or the AEV route. Thinking about a 3.5" either way. Anyone have any pros/cons with either of these lifts? (RK 3.5 Max travel w/ bilstins vs the AEV SC 3.5)

This is my DD jeep but take it offroading on the weekends.

I'm aware of the numerous "lift" threads and have read just about every one of them! Still on the fence about it!

Can't wait to update you all on the progress once I start installing everything - when it warms up!

From what I've read, it seems that the Rock Krawler is more geared towards wheeling (rock crawling) while the AEV is more towards lighter off roading or "overlanding". But in reality, I don't think you could go wrong with either. And I'll throw in Teraflex just to add to the confusion I love my 3" Teraflex system and will be returning to them on my next jeep.

haha I'll just add one of each lift. That'll work right?

Looking forward to following your build progress. I have no experience with the AEV products other than the guy I wheel with has the AEV 3.5" kit and it rides great. I went with the RK 2.5" lift and have really enjoyed it. I can say that my JKU will out flex his AEV all day long and it burns him up. I have no complaints with the Rock Krawler kit and the install was very easy with an extra set of hands. My net was a 3" gain and my new 34" Nittos fit great in the wheel wells.

Well, good luck with it. Hope something I shared helped.

Thanks, what shocks are you running with your RK kit? My main problem in my decision is that currently it is my DD but in the future it will be most likely transitioning to off road only - so I'm trying to decide if I want the AEV and have great on road/good offroad or RK and have a little rougher on road ride with the ability for more future options. I would assume I could upgrade the AEV kit in the future as well but the RK kits seem to be geared more for that sort of thing.

I like the easy install bit you mentioned

I initially had chosen the Rancho 9000's but after discussing with the local 4 Wheel Parts store I chose the Rubicon Express monotubes which are identical to the Bilstein 5100's and have been pleasantly surprised. Ride is better than stock when I am aired down to 30 psi, not much better, but better. I am in the same boat as mine is a DD also but in the next 5 years it will be more of a weekend rig.
