Default TacomanBJK12's Build thread and 2x4 to 4x4 conversion

My Jeep is a 2008 JKU that was purchased back in 2009 with about 30,000 miles or less on it, idk it was a while ago I don't quite remember but it was around that range lol. Im 21 years old and got the jeep when I was 16. Its been the only thing I've had to drive and its the only vehicle I want to drive. Ive done some mods to it in the 6 years of having it all the mods paid for from working summer jobs at SeaWorld San Antonio and from my current part time job at bestbuy. Im a full time college student so the money I make from my job I budget it for the things I like, taking trips to the coast, Kayaking in austin, Im an avid bicyclist with a candondale road bike and a specialized rockhopper. Im getting into golf right now and am saving up for camping stuff for me and my girlfriend we recently just became REI members and took advantage of their member garage sale getting some good deals on some sleeping pads but still piecing it all together. Also got a great deal on a Yeti Cooler

More about my Jeep my parents bought it for me and for any grateful kid I was willing to take anything with 4 wheels and a motor to get me places the Jeep has been fantastic the only draw back is that its 2x4 yes I know boo 2x4 and trade it in it's not worth it are probably coming but I accept that and my mission was to do the cheapest conversion thats been talked about on the forums. Its taken a lot of time and patience. Ive been researching doing the conversion for about 3 years now always putting it off but I decided 2015 is gonna be the year. It started with a craigslist search and an awesome find in Killeen, Texas a dana 30 with gears with axle shafts for 400 lowest Ive seen one so I texted the guy told him my plans for it and he held it for me for 2 weeks so I could sell my MBRP light bar to get the extra money to go get it great guy he was, a military man. The rest of the parts output shaft, tail housing, transfer case, shifter cable, shifter all came from eBay with great prices.

This is my list of parts and the prices Ive paid Im almost done just need about 2 more parts and drive shafts.
4x4 shifter 52060062ae 50.00
4wd shifter cable 52060462ae 57.43
tail housing 52852986ac/52854195AB 66.34
input shaft 52852915aa 39.70

tail housing cable bracket 52121833ac $56.70
shaft clip 52852916aa $1.95
Tail housing mount 52059945ab 47.00
Dana 30 axle complete 400.00
Transfer Case 374.99

Front drive shaft
Rear drive shaft

Bold is what I have so Im almost there!

This jeep means a lot to me so trading it in was not in the picture. Its already paid off and Ive done a lot to it already I've replaced parts on the engine so I know it some with is important for any owner, knowing your Jeep so you can fix something when it breaks

What I have so far is
2.5 Teraflex coil lift with bilstein 5100 shocks
AEV drop brackets
AEV ProCal
33in Falken All-Terrain tires
17in Level 8 Striker rims
Led reverse lights in stock bumper can also be used for camping

daystar switch a pillar
OTRATTW switches
KC spot windshield lights
Alpine head unit w/ bluetooth and sirius
Spiderwebshade top
Besttop quick disconnects
DIY fuse box

Ill be updating this when stuff happens. Thanks for reading!

If anyone has stock drive shafts that they dont want ill be happy to take them off your hands!

I'll probably go with a bilstein one but I do have a duel rough country one that I got for free from the guy that I bought the axle from right now my main priority is 4x4 before the summer

Default Bedlined the fenders

This weekend I had a chance to bedline my fenders. I do like the stock fender look for now but would like to get some poison spyder flat fenders in the future but for now bedlining the stock ones give them new life. Im probably next gonna bed line the bumpers and make my front a stubby. Ill post pics later of them.
