Tires
I have a 2012 wrangler unlimited sport. Just installed a 3.25 inch Rough Country lift. I'm ready for new tires and rims. Unfortunately no off roading yet mainly highway and city driving.
I'm just south west of you. Northern Cincinnati if you want to hook up and check my JKU out.
I'm running a 3" lift as well.
I'd stick with an AT tire if you're not offroading at all. If you just desire a bit more aggressive look than an AT will provide, the Nitto Ridge Grappler or the Toyo Open Country R/T offer a nice hybrid alternative.....but there's no getting around that an AT tire will give you the best on-road performance.
In regards to rims, your best bet is to stick with a 17" IMO.

Thanks. Went to the local tire shop and my head was spinning. He said once I choose a rim he could start plugging in tire sizes. I'm leaning towards American Racing AX201 17 inch with 285 70 17 BFG Ko2.
Looks like the back spacing on that wheel is 4.53", so would suit you up to a 35" if you ever went a little bigger down the road. So many to choose from....it's all just personal preference. I'd stick around that 4.5" backspacing, and with a 17" wheel you keep possibility open for big brake upgrades down the road should you ever choose to. You've already mentioned it will mainly be a pavement queen, but if you ever think it might start to venture a bit off road later down the line.....one thing to keep in mind when looking at wheels is the outter rims tend to get scratched up and such. That may or may not make a difference in what you pick, but just food for though. From experience I'd say if you like to wash your car and keep it pretty.....pic something that will be easy to clean. I've had cars in the past that kept all purdy....loved the look of the wheels I had but man they were a PITA to get in there and clean....so often times had clean car and dirty wheels. I don't have that problem with my jeep....it's just always dirty.
Thanks. She will be a pavement Queen for now. I have no experience but i have heard that 35 inch tire might require some re gearing trying to maintain speed in 6th gear on the highway. Dunno.
