I would like to know the possibilities of putting in the 2018 8 speed auto tranny in my 2012 JK Rubicon Unlimited. When I hit Utah and Nevada I want to be able to go 80MPH again. After re-gear it has been frustrating highway driving but of course loving it off road. I am sure there will be computer issues, driveline length issues and other stuff. But I can not be the only one that has thought about this.

Useful input by knowledgeable individuals would be appreciated.

Did you even compare the ratios of the 5 spd vs 8 spd? The gears are better broken down for shifting and staying in power range. This does not mean the 8spd will go faster.

Yes I did thats why I am asking. 1st gear is lower and 7th and 8th and higher geared.
