Esp bas light????
yeah was going to fast and I only have street tread and the mud was thick and deep and hit a deep rut and the bottom of the gear box busted but was totally worth it thanks so much for ur help
So i just pulled over, shut off Jeep, restarted Jeep, and traction light was still lit up, but the Jeep was running and handling just fine...
Then during the day of wheeling in moderate mud, the guy in the Jeep behind me radios saying ive got awireor some thing hanging from the left rearof my Jeep, just a moment before my ABS and emergency brake lights had come on...
So i got under the Jeep and there is about 18" of wire with a small plug dangling near the rear axle
I managed to figure out where it went and plugged it back in...e brake light goes away, but the ABS and traction lights are both still on...
The Jeep drives/handles fine.
Someone suggested disconnecting the battery for a while...I've changed batteries in the past, but the connectors on my JK are confusing, any advice or links on that?

Hey Guys & Gals!
Here's my story! My Rubicon and I have been through it all! Rushing rapids, deep mud pits, rock crawling, you name it, and we've never had an issue. I was bragging this weekend around the campfire about how I've tried to get her stuck and how I haven't been able to. And then, wouldn't you know it, out of nowhere, not even wheeling, wifey and were taking a slow cruise around this reservoir when all of a sudden we were sinking in what appeared to be a quicksand like muck substance. Rubi was buried past the axle and had to be pulled out by a tow truck. I couldn't get to a hose that night at the camp site so the seashell ladened muck that was caked in and around the rims, calipers and undercarriage had dried into cement. Long story short, the uneven dried muck caused a wicked death wobble on the way home and the ABS and ESP lights came on and the JK began braking or TCS'ing in spite of the ESP off button being pushed. She's getting a full detail including engine and undercarriage steam cleaning and I am hoping that solves the issue. And it was supposed to be a relaxing weekend camping...
I was pretty surprised that the muck brought the Rubi to her knees and fouled up sensors, it didn't seem to be beyond what the Jeep is made for. I'll post back and let you all know what happens.
Best Regards!

Did you visually inspect the dangling wire for any possible damage? If it is okay, you may just need to give the Jeep a couple starts for it to realize that it's fixed. Wait a day or two and see if it doesn't go away. If you want to disconnect the battery, just disconnect the terminal to the negative battery lug itself (black wires to it) and leave it off for a couple minutes, then reconnect.
They were great, no appointment, not even a phone call ahead of time, they looked at my Jeep within 10 minutes
It turned out to be that the right hand ABS sensor wire had one wire broken/ripped open!
I find it odd that in the same day the Left rear ABS sensor wire and the Right rear sensor wire decide to come unplugged and get broken...I don't believe in coincidences.
The mechanic was great, showed me where the broken wire was and I definitely know enough to crawl under there and fix the cut wire and fix it and heat shrink it, but i'm already in for $50 for the diagnostic charge so I had them fix it, and they reset the system to clear the codes but they made a point of making sure not to reset anything that I had programmed with my Procal!
Being that its brakes/ABS my wife is much happier that I let them do it...the key thing here was that I had both the front and rear axles swapped out last year, so the problem was just that these dangling lines were connected to anything, he showed me the holes where the wires were supposed to be tethered to a hole in the nearest support piece
I'm going to Napa tomorrow, there is a piece that he called a "Christmas Tree" that is just an arrow shaped rubber/plastic piece that expands as you put it into a hole until you hit the right size.
2 of those would have saved my problem with the two rear ABS sensor cables and $100
I learned my lesson and next time I have it up on my friends lift i'm going to go around checking out the other cables/wires checking for "low hanging fruit" and do some preventative work.
The mechanic was great, when he brought my Jeep around to the front of the building he parked it with the front wheels up on a tall cement block! They say they love to see Jeeps coming in with obvious trail debris hanging off of the under carriage.

Hey Gang,
So here's the deal. Broken left rear wheel speed sensor replaced under warranty, ESP Switch replaced under warranty, and because of the mud causing the death wobble, a broken front steering stabilizer, NOT covered under warranty. Dealer wants $370 to replace it. I think I'll be doing that one my self, thank you very much..
Any recommendations on steering stabilizers for mostly on-road occasional off roading? I was looking at Rubicon Express, ProComp, Skyjacker? You thoughts?

Glad you got it mostly fixed. There's no need to spend a bunch of money on a fancy SS. The OEM one can do that job. If you want something beefier that won't cost too much, the Teraflex 9550 fits the bill. About 50% larger tube and piston than OEM. Comes with a plastic boot that can be cut off if you don't like it (I don't, and besides on my modified rig I need the space for clearance from aftermarket tie rod and drag link). About $52 at Northridge.
