First time Wheelin...

Don't forget to air your tyres down! First time I went wheeling many years ago I was getting stuck on every obstacle while the other guys were just sailing over or through them. Eventually one of the guys asked if I'd aired down & I answered something like "aired what now?".
Makes a huge difference not just to smooth out the bumps (and save some wear & tear on your suspension components) but also in adding much more traction; just remember to air back up before you hit the highway at 70MPH again.

I know to air down... do you know what PSI I should go down to? I have 33" mud terrain firestone tires on 17" steelies. And I wont let fear take over but I dont plan on doing anything that is going to screw me over money wise..

Depending on yours tires you may want to flex the sidewalls a little a few days before your ride. Air down to 2o-25psi in your yard, let it set for a hour or so, then do a small slow drive around the neighborhood. This allows the sidewalls to bend a little and get warn in with the weight and the fact you're way below Rec. air pressure. Some people will say this isn't necessary but its habit for me, its like a pair of shoes.
