Fun with a winch - what can I do?

Believe it or not this isn't too far fetched. I know a guy that told me he saw guys driving down to the river bank, hooking up a big grappling type hook to the winch, baiting it with a whole skinned rabbit and fishing for sturgeon that way. Then all they would do is sit back and wait for the front end of the rig to start bouncing, hit the switch, and just winch em' on in. He swore to me it was true...

And you Hear that Andy??!! Sounds like puppies, kittens, and other small fluffy cute animals would work... Just gotta skin em' first!

Yeah, but if you skin them they wont struggle when they hit the water and the sharks might not want to snack on them. I'm thinking a little flufy anmial life jacket and lots of chum would do the trick!!!

I also saw a pic of a guy's jeep just hanging in free space by his winch cable. If I recall the story, he wanted to go hunting someplace where the road didn't go and once he got past this shear 100 foot rock cliff he could get to where he wanted to go. So he would climb up to the top of the cliff, hook up the winch, climb back down and hit the switch. Then he would climb back up to the top and wait for the rig to get there and guide it by hand as it came up over the cliff. Pretty crazy but I guess it worked for him.....
