The advice so far is pretty sound. The idea for leaving the Jeep in 1st Gear 4Lo is to descent in a controlled fashion and to stay on course. The danger of a steep descent is that your backside is going to slide which means that you're susceptible to a roll over. If that happens, depress the accelerator until the rear is under control again. This may feel like an unnatural reaction but just do it if that happens!
