Input on Land Anchor
Does anyone have experience with a land anchor for self recovery like the smittybuilt wasp? Looking for feedback on if they're worth it.

I would stay away from that, from what I read it doesn't work. I would recommend the Pul-pal. I know they work. I haven't used mine yet but I have a buddy that has a few times and it works great.

The spade part is about 20-24". I store it in the back in a gap between my SoCal storage drawer and the side of the rear compartment. The other part folds to roughly 4' in length. It is quite heavy, but can be inserted under the rear seat. There are also aftermarket brackets to store one, including for AEV's rear bumper.

Smitty is bad enough as it is... there are some products I really would stay clear from. If they fail it can hurt. Smitty land anchors and snatch blocks come to mind first. +1 for the pull-pal

Anchor
That is a Danforth (or copy) small boat anchor, available in galvanized steel at most marine suppliers. Available in sizes and weights up to 100# or more. Very effective but would need to be dug into the soil. I had a 12# anchor hold my 30' sailboat through a heavy storm, for hours, but I've no idea how well it would work on dry land. The Bruce anchor is another very effective one, for boats. - Ted
