Hi all new to having a winch Engo 10k with synthetic for the record.
I need pointers on pulling people out of MUD and general other pointers.
Like should I use a Snatch block in mud?
Am I to have my JKU in NEUTRAL when pulling someone out? Or in Park? (I have an auto)
And any other advice THANK YOU

Here is some good info on winching in general. http://www.driveoffroad.com/4wd-school/recovery/

You mainly need the snatch block for hard pulls or when you cannot get directly in front of the thing you are pulling. Like an L shaped trail. If the vehicle you are trying to free is really stuck, the snatch block will help by doubling your pulling power but of course it doubles your pulling time (half the line speed).

I also recommend the four wheelers bible. It has some good info on recovery and safety while doing so.

As for a source, many of the sponsors here carry them. Qtec, Northridge, etc. Mention the forum when you order, some give shipping deals to members.

What about, poping the hood up (flying bumper, or shackles come flying at your rig( protect the window)
Also open the driver door and operate your remote from standing behind it.

Yo Chris I pulled the other Rob out last night I think I sent you a pic. The first part of the pull my jeep was actually moving I had it in neutral with parking brake applied and my foot pushing hard on my brakes.
Your scaring me now with these flying bumpers and such.
Im going to start a new thread
" 1 day old Engo 10k winch with synthetic line for sale"
Used for only 2 pulls worked great!!
