Off-Camber Tips
We've all been there. We've all had those "Oh S@#*" moments when it feels as if you're 2 seconds away from rolling the Jeep. What are some tips for navigating through steep off camber trails?
I have been running with the front sway bar locked when doing offcambers. Might just be my imagination but it seems much more stable. So much so I an thinking of getting a set of Currie anti sways for the front and back.
But what if you're on the side of a hill?
There's a few trails I've seen at Rausch Creek for example where the trail is on the edge of a hill/cliff. Rolling there is, well you know...
I'm not a fan of those trails, trying to keep calm in that situation takes practice
I heard point the tires where you're trying to get to no matter what. But doesn't that seem counter-productive and almost dangerous as well at times?
The topic is definetely tricky, I'm not sure if there's a set way to go about doing it. Each off camber trail is tricky in itself. So that's why I ask, anyone have any tips?
P.S. After doing those trails, I was terrified for about an hour

Then you've put yourself between a rock and a hard place. Maybe quite literally.
What you're really trying to do is change the COG. You DO NOT want to turn away from the roll. If you point the front of the jeep up hill the mass moves up and the COG changes in a bad way inducing more roll. If you can't point it down and you feel like you're going over, Stop and get help. DO NOT get out of the Jeep. It would just suck if the Jeep rolled over you.
When someone says get out and look, that's before you've gone too far.

And keep all legs and arms inside at ALL times. If you search you'll see videos of people trying to stabilize their 2 ton trucks off camber by sticking a leg out.
