I've done the same thing. I havn't had any problems I think it depends on if its just muddy water or large sticky mud/sticks ect.

I about $HIT myself when i had stalled it and hit the clutch and it wouldnt restart.

after being winched out i let it sit with my foot on the clutch to kindof let any water ect drian out and then started it let it idle in neutral. I would ligtly engage the clutch just enough to get it spinning and then let it dissengage to spin any crap off of it if there was any. that was last summer and i'm stil going strong about 20K miles since then.

If it still grabs when you shift gears you'll be find, if it slips then flush'n change the fluid.
Youri is like the mud/water nazi so don't pay him any attention. Going by his know how, anything over 6 inchs of water/mud and you'll have to buy a new jeep.

How'd the diff. fluid look after the mud hole?

Also, I would not worry about the Tranny fluid you are not deep enough to go over the stock breather tube for the Tranny or Transfer Case in that hole, but you should consider extending your breather tubes (axles, tranny & transfer case) and next time you play in water and mud....4LO!!

End of wheeling season, that's when you can drain all the fluids unless contaminated.
Yeah I'm not going to replace it it is still working fine. I did change my diff oil the next day. It was in 4 low that pit is so much worse than it looks. It is that sloppy sloppy mud. when I got out everytime u stepped even on what looked dry you would sink to ur knew. Ask my wife she lost both shoes LOL. After I got pulled out they took a John Deere 4840 through it and it got stuck to. But all in all thank you for all ur post and help

Was in 4 low it was a lot wise than I looks it was that really sticky mud. You would step on what looked dry and still sink instantly to ur knee. My wife lost both shoes. I'm sure those cost me a pretty penny LOL. after they pulled me out they took a John Deere 4840 through it and it got stuck too. Thank u all for ur help and insite.

X2... As long as you've changed the fluids and the clutch is not giving you any issues, I wouldn't put any $$ into fixing something that's not broken. Just continue to monitor it and maybe another Fluid change during your next oil change just to make sure their is nothing floating in there. If it was a serious issue, you would know by now.....
