I have the stinger hoop on the rugged ridge bumper and I have D rings that you can simply unscrew.

RR Pure jeep and Teraflex all have the same bolt pattern. It is the same bolt pattern as the frame on the jeep.

i'd like something that screws off easier. sorta like on a shackle. or is that a bad idea? are the d-rings stronger and i should just carry a wrench to take 'em off?

thanks
steve
The rugged ridge bumper wasn't designed to have those shackles removed and installed(bolt instead of pin). Carry a couple of extra D-rings and connect that to the factory mounted shackle as required. or for a snatch strap just thread it through on itself and throw the other end to another jeep to recover you.

That's exactly what I do. I've never had any problems. Plus, its always nice to have a few extra shackles handy anytime you are wheeling.

D-ring:

Shackle:

It's confusing me the way people are using the two terms interchangeably.

why not get a shackle and use it to connect your d-rings on your rr bumper to the snatch strap or whatever? take less time and probably safer.

You asked which one is stronger... not sure if there is really an answer. D-rings and shackles are made in a variety of different strengths and sizes. most people use 3/4" shackles b/c thats what fits most bumpers and they are typically rated for a 8k to 10k workload.
