Recovery tools are a must have. Tow strap, extra d-rings. Good stuff for Self recovery, shovel, axe, lighting, chem fire extinguisher, tire deflator, air compressor. First aid is good to have.. great part about the Jeeps design, you can really get creative with where you store everything. I use the rear trunk for straps, air line, and d rings, tailgate to secure tools, underhood on board air. Interior mounted first aid.

^^^ That's really cool, but I would ditch the bulky flashlight. Instead get a small headlamp. This is what I have: Petzl Tactikka Plus Headlamp | Backcountry.com

You also don't need to waste a hand to use 1.

Posted a thread on survival gear a few weeks ago. I carry a case with entrenching tool, back pack ( clothes, fire starters, food, utensils, stainless steel cup, tools, knives, flash lights, first aid, water purification, etc) blanket, more tools, another first aid kit, camel back, canteen, flares, trash bags, etc.

I'll post some more pics. It's pretty easy to make a good kit, a lot of people have posted some good stuff on YouTube.

I usually keep my E-tool under the back seat. Seems like its always getting used so its quick and easy to get there.
