Tire Deflators
Anyone use the Smittybilt deflators? They look a lot like the Staun deflators but much cheaper. If you have the Smittybilt how do you like them? I know the Staun's are good. Here is a link for both.

I've heard that the staun lookalikes don't work very well?? But I have no experience with them to back that up!!! I'm sure someone will have them and let you know how they are. I bought stauns after a guy on the trail let me use his, I really like them
I have the smittybuilt ones. The one time I used them to set the PSI, they seemed to work fine.
I need to try them again before I give them an accurate review.
When I used them the first time, I was expecting that the air would come out of the tire at a good rate of speed. When it came down to the last PSI to evac the tire (I had it set to 18 PSI by using them on the Spare first) I felt that they stopped working. The PSI was around 22 - 18, depending on which tire I checked. This could have been because I wasn't calibrating the deflators properly.
Even if they don't work "Perfectly" had I calibrated them precisely, it sure beats airing down each tire one by one with one tool.

When I was looking for a deflator, I went with the one from Currie.
Have used it several times and like it a lot.

I just use those clip on tire inflators with the airhose atachment on it for easier handling as my deflator. Very inexpensive and does it quickly. Not automatic but I don't care about that, I just use a digital gauge to check when I think they are getting close and I have done this enough times I have a pretty good idea when to check.

I've owned the smitty builts and donated them to my club raffle. I own the Stauns and also own the cheap, non-stop deflators. I would run these over the smitty builts. The smitty builts wouldn't stay consistent with me. They always deflated to different pressures in the 2-3lb difference range. That may not seem bad but when you go to 9, 6 is too low...
