too much flex?

Happens alot on tj's and jk's that neglect to install proper bump stops and retainers

It's funny now, but it wasn't when a spring lost its seat and took out the brake line on a friend's TJ when he had to flex his suspension on a lonely pile of rocks 50 miles from civilization. It took me 4 hours to tow him back to civilization in 110 deg heat.

if you have that much flex you should not use your shocks to act as limiting straps....that is what limiting straps are for

And don't check things. i still have stock stops and retainers, however I have fully flexed mine to inspect lines/spring/ wiring, etc. Be a bad time to lose a brake line! (like any isnt a bad time!)

You can definitely lose a spring at full droop with a modified setup. Spring retainers are your friend...or limiting straps once you start getting into really big travel.

Limiting straps will not only help keep you from loosing a spring and tearing a break line/ abs wire but it will also save your shocks from being over extended and break or leak.
