What extra parts should be in my kit?
I'm putting together an "off road kit" together that would have tools, snatch straps, d rings, first aid kit, etc..ect.. I just don't know what extra parts I should have with me that are fixable on a trail. Any ideas?

small Tupper ware container with lid
bailing wire
zip ties
eye protection/eye wash
extendable magnet or "grabber"

I should say that I am well know in my group for having that wierd thing that no one else thought of bringing. example: on a mountaing bike trip on the White Rim Trail one of the guys had a cable break and needed to "fish" a new one through his down tube from the bottom up but the cable was to flexable....I had 8 pound fishing line with a small sinker that we dropped down the tube and taped it onto the cable and pulled it up.
I often over pack and for no other reason than my brains says"well I may need that for something". ironicly my house is rather sparce because clutter and things out of place drive me nuts.............oh my god.....I have an OCD....

A different approach is to hopefully wheel with people that have commonality in equipment, then one person can bring a U-Joint, another can bring a piece of kit, then nobody needs to bring a ton of gear. You borrow between the group. Also depends on where you are, what you are doing, and how you are doing it as to what you will need to bring.
Always bring the basic survival gear for 72 hours with SAS Survival Guide.
Recovery gear for yourself
Hi-Lift Jack with base plate and a wheel chock (practice using before hand)
First Aid gear with the proper training to use it properly
